NOVA 94 Feet 6th Grade Team
Head Coach: Bob Farkas
Assistant Coach: Jeff Balistrere
Bob Farkas: firstname.lastname@example.org
Born and raised in the DC Metro area on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, Bob began coaching youth travel basketball almost 30 years ago when his high school coach recommended him for a coaching position with a local boys travel basketball team. Thereafter, Bob enjoyed 10 successful seasons coaching the 6th grade travel basketball teams for the Potomac Boys Club with several former players earning D1 college basketball scholarships.
Moving to Northern Virginia, Bob continued coaching a variety of youth basketball teams in multiple basketball leagues in Vienna, Reston and Chantilly. More recently, Bob was assistant coach for Nova 94 Feet's 4th Grade 2012 and 5th Grade 2013 AAU teams and last year served as head coach for Herndon's 5th Grade D1 Boys Travel Team. Currently Bob is head coach of Chantilly's 5th grade D1 Boys Travel Team.
Bob's philosophy is centered around developing "complete" basketball players and specifically tries to build enthusiasm for the non-scoring aspects of the game: defense, rebounding, passing, hustle, etc. More importantly, Bob wants to develop smart basketball players who can think intelligently about the game and make the right decisions on (and off) the court rather than relying on the coach to constantly bark out instructions.
