NOVA 94 Feet 9th Grade Team--Blue

Head Coach: Rusty Payne

Coach Payne is currently the boys freshman head coach at McLean High School.  For the previous 15 years, Rusty has coached the boys varsity basketball offseason teams at Chantilly High School. These included Team Camp, Spring League, Fall League, and Summer League.

Coach Payne played basketball at McLean all four years, from 1987-1991.  He was a member of the 1991 team that won 14 games, (then a school-tying record) advanced to the District title game and is one of only three McLean teams to win a game in the Northern Region Tournament. He is the third of three brothers to play for McLean, in addition to a sister who also played 4 years for the Highlanders.

Rusty founded the McLean High School Athletic Hall of Fame, which recognizes the most successful athletes, coaches, and contributors in McLean history.  He also serves as a Scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop and is active in the youth program at his local church.

Rusty lives in McLean with his wife Virginia and their three children, and he remains the longtime public address announcer for McLean Varsity football home games. Rusty's full-time profession is serving as a national spokesman for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  This is Rusty's first year coaching with Nova 94.
