Mary Carnes and Mayo Wilson first met at the January 2016 NOVA 94 tryout where their then 3rd Grade girls, Amirah and Anaya were trying out for the same team. For the first several months they were friends who chatted, laughed, and cheered from the crowd like all other parents. Over the course of several months they got to know each other even more and decided to see each other outside of basketball. It didn't take long before they realized they found true love in one another. They were recently engaged and are thrilled to begin their life together. It's amazing what can happen when two people meant to be together can find each other in the most ordinary situation. They will celebrate their love with friends and family on September 30th at Ft Myer Officer's Club.
